Dentist Pics

Cooper getting his fluoride treatment.

He did so well!

Olivia the Pro - she actually enjoys going to the dentist....crazy girl!

Olivia getting her treatment too. I am so proud and thankful they did so well!

Dentist Office

Poor Al (but better him than me) is at the dentist office right now as we speak with BOTH of the wild Griggs children. Olivia is a pro at the dentist now, so she's not the one I'm really worried about. Give her a free toothbrush and tooth paste and she's good to go (another trait she inherited from Mommy...I LOVE free stuff...I could care less what it is, as long as it's free!). Cooper, on the other hand, is going to the dentist for the very first time EVER. He's acted and talked like he wasn't scared but between the two, he's the one that is more sensitive and shy and nervous about things. So please pray that they *both* do well and have no cavities! Al is supposed to take pictures so I will try to post those as soon as I can. :)

When you thought I wasn't looking....

I like to post these little poems and stuff I get over my email from time to time - thought I would share this one......

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say,'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'

Are you sure it's Cooper?

The kids are going to VBS this week - and they love it! But, if you're a loyal reader of my blog (and I know most of you are) then you know that Cooper didn't do too hot in 3K last year. For the most part it was a quiet year, but he had his moments where he got in trouble. Needless to say, I was a little worried about how VBS was going to go. It's strictly for kids so I can drop them off and come back and get them when it's over. (I LOVE THIS PART!!! - ha ha) Anyways, when Al came home with them last night he told me that Judy said that Cooper did wonderful. SO WONDERFUL that HE made the OTHER kids BEHAVE in class. *Shocked Mommy says What?* WHAT??? I even asked Al if he was sure she meant Cooper and not cousin Louis! He said no, that he asked her *twice* if she meant Cooper. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of my little guy - I guess since he's getting older, he's calming down some. Or maybe he just knows he's supposed to behave in church! Either way, he's a totally different Cooper at VBS. :)

Turn my head....

I turn my head for one minute and it's already the 8th of July! Geez! Life has been busy in our little world.....of what I'm not sure! We haven't really been doing a lot - which is part of the reason I have been lacking in posting a lot lately. The other part is because I have found Facebook and now go to FB meetings to help with my addiction! Kidding....although they probably would be helpful. :)

The kids are enjoying summer - they have about 5 1/2 weeks of summer left before school starts back. I think Olivia is looking forward to seeing all her buddies - Cooper could really care less. He has a girlfriend (he DENIES it - just like a man) named Hailey at daycare and I think doesn't want to leave her. Too sweet right? Our 4th of July was relatively low key. We didn't shoot fireworks or anything....very lazy of us I know. We just weren't in the mood this year and the kids didn't even ask about them. As long as you have a water hose or a pool, my two are good to go. So, we spent the entire weekend in a pool somewhere. You should see Olivia and Cooper's tans - I am jealous! :)

Al and I are going to the gym 4 nights a week. Today is day 3 for me and I can already feel it in my legs. Al has lost 11 pounds - Yay Al! I can really tell it too. Hopefully with both of us going, we can keep each other motivated. I really need to get serious about my weight loss. I do well for awhile and always fall off the wagon. I am still trying to build up to a nice jog. It's been so hot here lately though that it's almost been impossible. Anyways, that's my quick update for now - hopefully I will something exciting to post about later! :)
